The Brittle Gum Lawn
The Brittle Gum Lawn is a grassy area flanked by paperbark trees, rainforest and elegant white gums. The Lawn can be reached by foot and is just up the hill behind the café. (about 5 minutes walk from the carpark).
This is our favourite site for wedding ceremonies as it is quite private and is always lovely and green and has lots of shade.
Both the gumtrees on the lawn and the nearby rainforest offer many a magnificent photographic background.
Burbrige Amphitheatre
The Burbidge Ampitheatre is a stone structure with tiered wooden seating and has capacity for approximately 70 guests.
This site requires a longer walk for your wedding guests but is well worth it as it has commanding views overlooking the entire sweep of the Eucalypt.
Du Crou Pavillion
The Ducrou Pavilion is located on the Eucalypt Lawn and has a relaxed, informal atmosphere. It was designed with a tree-like form and blends beautifully with its surrounds. The Ducrou Pavilion has shelter, power, some seating and tables and is close to the ‘Main Path’ (indicated by the dotted line on the map).
This is also well worth considering as an outdoor site for a luncheon for forty guests.
Public toilets are located nearby.
Education Amphitheatre
The Education Ampitheatre is available on weekends and during school holidays. It is a sunny, tiered, paved area with timber seating. The outlook is down a gently sloping lawn bounded by sheoaks and tranquil ponds.
Public toilets are available in the nearby Crosbie Morrison Building.
Northern Eucalyptus Lawn
The Eucalypt Lawn is a large grassed area dotted with a variety of gum trees from all over Australia. The area is close to the ‘Main Path’ There is easy access to public toilets on the Lawn.
Rock Garden Lawn
The Rock Garden is a showcase of much of our unique Australian flora and is a favourite of overseas and interstate visitors. This luxurient lawn is adjacent to the ‘Main Path’.
If you are looking for a sunny, open location for your special occasion, this is the one to choose.
Please bear in mind that this site does not have a great deal of shade and is in full sun for a considerable part of the day.
